As I write this it is currently sixty degrees outside and the wind is howling to the point where my husband is texting me from his darkened office – the wind having knocked out the power. Chicago weather is never boring. It’s suppose to be lovely tomorrow, with similar temps and I’m trying not to scroll too far ahead in the weather report as this flirtation with spring surely won’t last long, but I’ll enjoy it while it’s here. Wishing our little pug was all healed so we could venture to the dog park, but it will be a couple more weeks yet before that’s a possibility. What are your plans for the weekend?
Here are a few things I came across this week that were funny/interesting/inspiring. Enjoy!
//In honor of the life of Harper Lee, who wrote one of the most beautiful books of all time, here are just a few of the many inspiring words she left us with.
//This article on the fairy tale of ‘having it all’ is a must read.
//If only I could talk the hubby into living someplace like this with me…
//This hilarious skit on why we should elect Canada for President in 2016 (it’s a solid argument, really).
//How to overcome worry and be a friendlier person.
//As if I needed any more reasons to love France, they are now making it illegal for employers to require you to check e-mail on your own time (because, you know, quality of life).
//Pinning these kitchen ideas for when we move.
//A psychologists open letter to U.S. voters.
//DC Comics is hitting the reset button. Again.
//These photographs of the American West 150 years ago are pretty incredible.
//Through the lens of comic books: the necessary, and uncomfortable, conversation about diversity.
//These stunning photographs of time.
//Super excited to see how this restoration of one of my favorite Chicago neighborhood theaters will play out!
